Well, it aint easy to uproot yourself and settle in quickly in a completely new environment. it was raining here and i was caught out in the rain w 2 luggages of 59 kg, so with the many activities i had to go to and the chilly weather, little wonder how i fell sick and was feverish. didnt party though there are parties every night here in NYC. was in bed by 9pmm everyday, but yesterday, i went out to explore the city.

went window shopping down broadway! window shopping cos im sworn to poverty the 4 years im gonna be here till i get a campus job. haha. took a subway down to times square and met the actress from sister's act. whats her name? the toys'r'us there had this ferris wheel in it with carriages shaped like cars with characters like jimmy neutron and barbie. pity i didnt bring my camera along. but after tt, i took a subway back to my dorm alone, and since tht was my 2nd time on the subway, with the 1st being my trip to times square, i got lost. its not like the mrt in spore? each platform has like 3 different trains going three different routes and the subway map can indicate the train alphabet but if the alphabet is not in bold on the map, it will just pass the station without stopping? so i went deeper into the south and into the heart of brooklyn. man..i freaked out.

but thank god, i met kind hearted pple who directed me back to manhatten 8th street which is where my place is. then we went out with derui's parents to this cool jap place for jap buffet. i nearly teared tasting well-cooked rice and my fav jap food again. then we walked down to macy's, which is this cool big departmental store in new york.

oh yea, i forgot to mention bout the virtues of americans which i found out today.

Timeliness : they start seminars on time and they kinda shut the door on u even if u're 2 mins late
self-help: u go to them with 5 qns and they direct u to 3 diff websites, 2 diff phone numbers and a list of pple u can look for
self-responsibility: u clean up your own mess.
