palestine will be free!

in time, or rather if yasser arafat steps down in netanyahu's word.

went to hear benjamin netanyahu speak yesterday night. When we got there, there was a small crowd of people, of different shapes n sizes, different age and origins, and they were just holding up placards with " netanyahu, war crminal!" and " Jews for peace!" and everything else. and one person would start chanting slogans and everyone would join in, " From the rivers to the seas, palestine will be free!" was just one of the nicer ones. Just as we entered the cooper union great hall, we spotted chalk drawings of dead people and of war all over the floor. i was truly amazed. gawd, u will never see this in spore.

and as we listed to netanyahu, we took everything with a pinch of salt, knowing that this was a man who resigned after he failed to halt the gaza disengagement plan. and at the end of it, he made a passionate appeal to go spread the word abt why there is still fighting btw israel and palestine " through the internet". i guess he perceived the internet as the fastest and most efficient way of spreading the word. go figure.
