I was just sitting around, when i received a call frm a certain private number.

"Muffin? shorty Muffin?"
me: whose this?
"oei muffin, u dont remember me?"

and suddenly all the pple who would call me muffin ran through my head. links, kovind, thiam..
But, it was COLFLESH! that bloody monkey is back from UK!! yAY!!! and now i can meet my whole dragon team again.

i realised i never really wrote about my beloved division, but these 10 guys have been the source of my inspiration, encouragement, comfort and life when i was back in MIDs.

late in the night, u would see all of us squeezed into kok's and cai's smelly room. somehow, this is the gathering point though it was the chosen venue for brian's kiwi exploit( when he threw a bottle of kiwi shoe polish up into the air, and it got caught in the ceiling fan, then splat! big paint job), smelly socks and pt kits, where DY navy caught me in the room checking my OA while my division stripped into boxers behind me... u would see links lying on the bed, kanghong sprawled over the edge of the bed, kok at his comp game, cai talking to pam, chew just in his usual confused state, glass dancing to the chicken little song in his colourful boxers, and we would talk about giap and lq. laughing at their disgusting antics, we gossiped like a group of girls..

and when we had confinement, we brought the projector up to a room, and played playstation soccer, or we watched a movie. and we always had ben n jerry's ready..chips from somebody and brian's vietnam biscuits. links always had nature bars and kanghong had mummy's home made cookies and tarts.

during expeditions, my division pushed me on.. all the runs, all the OCS/Mids challenges,.. when we had long runs, long swims, my div was always there, cheering me on.. telling me " hey, stop running like a pregnant woman" and kok shaking his butt in front of me saying come catch me. links will be beside me, pointing to the spot beside him and saying stay here! dont leave me!
and maj teng would be there saying let the dragon lady lead u!

the time when we walked miles to find a certain pizza stall in darwin and stumbled into the aborigine's village with a big breasted old prostitute. how we sat in the dark by cullen bay and ate cheap greek fish and chips, colflesh trying to scare me with a caterpillar and links making me touch it. how we used the street lamp to see our food, how we stared into the beautiful stars and named them.

and for all the projects we did, comex, pilotage, homesweethome, nbs.. u would see us in the dragon div room, scratching our heads over all the questions and uncertainties.. we worked late into the night. even during mstd, when everyone was sea sick, they woke up and worked. colflesh falling asleep at the chart..working past midnight after watch to cut streamers.. linkesh dancing with the pink n purple streamer to keep awake..

and who would forget the night before we moved out of mids wing. we were in kang hong's room and i was just sitting there. there was this odd silence and in tht silence, we knew we would never have a chance to live together on that same floor anymore. we wouldnt gather in the kitchenette and cook singapore stirfried noodles anymore, i wouldnt see links running from the toilet in his towel anymore. and all the memories came back.

without my dragons, without 54th dragons, mids would never be the same. to the best division ever.
